Contact-less /remote identification
(material tracking)
Registration of products and production processes through barcode- or RFID.
A product or product container is registered with it's unique ID at the different process stations and thus the whole production process can be monitored and logged.
- registration of process times (throughput)
- control of individual process steps
- registration and tracking of process errors
- recognition and optimization of "bottle-necks"
- early warning of wear or other maintenance checks
- storing/attaching process data with product (only RFID)
RFID stands for
Radio Frequency Identification
and
allows detection and registration of little identifier tags
by inductive radio communication (distance about 5 to 50 cm).
These RFID-tags, as they are called, come as paper stickers,
little palstic cards (like credit cards or smaller),
small plastic rings or coins, etc.
They are glued or attached to the product or the product container
and serve as unique identifier at each reader station.
Specific information (few KB) can even be stored directly on the tag.
